How
does the custom e-commerce design process
work?
Though every web design project is different,
below is a representation of our general
guidelines for an average custom project.
PHASE 1
After receiving a completed design questionnaire where you can share some thoughts on your project, we will begin preparing your project for assignment to a designer. During this first phase of the project, we ask that you spend a few days immediately getting acquainted with the CustomWeb shopping cart and other web software, learning how to use your new storefront. During this phase, we recommend you read the welcome letter provided by your salesperson to find great resources and FAQ's on how to load your products, set up your categories and begin building your storefront. If you have chosen a package that includes it, we will schedule a time to hold a free consultation with our tech expert as well.
PHASE 2
Your designer will contact you to begin your project. He or she will help outline your objectives, your expectations and what to expect from our services. It is absolutely important that you have begun Phase 1 before your designer can begin on your project. Utilizing the information gathered from the e-mail survey and phone consultation, your designer will develop a mock-up and e-mail it to you for review. Depending on the package, your designer will work with you through 2 revisions, if needed to finalize your design. The process can last 1-4 days depending on your level of communication.
PHASE 3
After you have had the opportunity to review your designers concepts, we are ready to move forward to implementing the layout. Following the approval and completion of your chosen design layout, your designer will upload the working design to your site and make adjustments to your storefront to match the color and font scheme. After you have had the chance to review your new design, you and your designer will sign off on the project and this completes the design process.

This time however does not
include time taken by the client / customer to
communicate design changes & approvals
whenever necessary.
